CCTV Exposes Thai Transwoman’s Bold Car Park Theft in Ayutthaya
CCTV footage reveals the moment a Thai transwoman, notorious among locals, steals from a man asleep in his car outside an Ayutthaya entertainment venue. The incident, which took place in the early hours, has reignited concerns over repeat thefts in the area.
Suspect Targets Sleeping Motorist
The theft occurs around 4.30am in the Uthai district car park. Sitti Wechadet, the victim’s brother, files a police complaint after discovering cash, a mobile phone, and a wristwatch missing.
Sitti hands over security footage to investigators. The video shows the suspect, dressed in black, carrying a chair to the victim’s white SUV. She climbs up, lowers the window, and reaches inside to steal the valuables.
Locals immediately recognise her, recalling previous warnings about her criminal activities. “She’s well known for targeting people who fall asleep in their cars after drinking,” a resident says.
Police Arrest Repeat Offender
Police quickly track down the suspect at her dormitory. Despite her arrest, she denies all allegations.
Authorities confirm she has a prior theft conviction from three years ago. Evidence also links her to several similar thefts in the region.
One previous victim tells One 31 news agency, “If you woke up, she’d offer sexual favours or pretend she knew you.” Police are gathering more evidence before confirming legal action.
Rising Concerns Over Similar Crimes
This case is not isolated. Under Section 335(1) of Thai Criminal Law, theft at night can result in one to five years in prison and a fine of 2,000–10,000 baht.
Recent weeks have seen similar cases involving transgender suspects. In Pattaya, an Indian man reported two Thai transwomen attacked him with chemicals and stole 7,000 baht, a phone, and his room key. Another Indian tourist claims a group of Thai transwomen stole his gold necklace, worth over 100,000 baht, on Pattaya Beach.
Community Demands Action
With the main suspect now in custody, Ayutthaya locals hope for justice and better protection from repeat offenders. Police say the investigation continues, and further charges may follow.
