Tragic domestic dispute in Ban Bueng
Police from Khlong Kio Station responded at 08:00 on 7 September to a single-storey home in Moo 7, Khlong Kio subdistrict, Ban Bueng district, Chonburi. Upon arrival, officers found the husband, identified only as W., sitting on a sofa with a shotgun wound to the head. His wife, P., 41, was discovered dead in a nearby room, also shot with a shotgun. Spent shells were collected at the scene as evidence.
Age gap and signs of controlling behaviour
Initial investigations revealed a 34-year age gap between the couple. Neighbours reported that W. had long exhibited controlling and jealous behaviour toward his wife. On the day of the incident, the couple reportedly argued after P., who worked at a factory, did not return home as expected over the weekend.
It is believed that W. had arranged to meet his wife to discuss their dispute, but failing to reach an agreement, resorted to violence.
Timeline of the fatal shooting
Neighbours reported hearing two gunshots: the first around 21:00 on 6 September, when W. shot his wife, and the second approximately an hour later at 22:00, when he fatally shot himself.
Police continue to investigate the incident and are collecting evidence to complete the official report, while local authorities have called for further attention to domestic violence prevention measures in the district.
