BANGKOK, THAILAND – Police arrested 19 Chinese nationals in a luxury house in Sai Mai district that allegedly served as a base for illegal online gambling targeting customers in China.
Raid in Sai Mai: Luxury house as suspected operations base
Officers from the Metropolitan Police Division carried out the raid together with the Immigration Bureau and Kannayao Police Station. They searched a house in the Or Ngoen area of Sai Mai in Bangkok on Friday.
The operation was conducted under a search warrant issued on 16 April by the Min Buri Criminal Court. Police said the property was under suspicion for its role in unlawful gambling activities.
19 arrests on suspicion of criminal association and online gambling
A total of 19 Chinese men aged between 26 and 45 were taken into custody during the raid. They were suspected of forming a criminal association.
Authorities also accused them of organising illegal online gambling from inside the house. According to police, the suspects had allegedly been running gambling websites at the time of the search.
Investigations led officers to the address
The raid followed investigations based on information that the residence was being used as a base for unauthorised gambling operations. Police said the intelligence indicated a structured operation aimed at online bettors.
During the search, the suspects were reportedly found actively managing gambling websites. Officers said the activities appeared to be coordinated from Bangkok while focusing on a foreign market.
Tech haul: phones, laptops and desktop computers seized
As evidence, officers seized 102 mobile phones, two iPads, eight laptops, eight desktop computers and eight CPUs. The equipment was found throughout the property.
Investigators said the devices were used to operate the gambling platform and to handle communication and organisation. The seizure formed a key part of the case file being built by Kannayao police.
“Chang Sheng Entertainment” allegedly targeted Chinese customers
During questioning, the suspects allegedly admitted that they had run an online gambling service through an application called “Chang Sheng Entertainment”. The platform was described as a coordinated digital operation.
According to police, the offer was aimed specifically at customers in China. Officers said the service appeared designed to attract and retain gamblers in that market.
How the system worked: registration, transfers, betting credit
Users reportedly had to register, transfer money and then convert it into betting credit. This structure was presented to investigators as the standard process for participation.
Police said they checked the system with the consent of the suspects. According to officers, all of them admitted to the allegations.
Case handed over to Kannayao police: proceedings under way
The arrested men and the seized items were handed over to investigators at Kannayao Police Station. The station assumed responsibility for the case file and evidence.
Officers there were expected to initiate further legal steps and continue the proceedings. Police said the investigation into the suspected gambling network would remain ongoing.
