PATTAYA, THAILAND – The “Pattaya Cultural Stage Project 2026” opened on the evening of 13 February 2026 at Central Pattaya Beach, drawing large numbers of residents and tourists to its cultural displays and performances.
City leadership opens seaside cultural project
At 6 p.m., Poramese Ngampichet, mayor of Pattaya City, officially opened the event on the promenade at Central Pattaya Beach. Beside him stood Banlue Kullavanij, president of the Pattaya City Council, along with school representatives, agency heads and officials from the city’s Education Office.
Education office coordinates wide local partnership
The opening address on the project’s focus was delivered by Boongnam Lekcharoen, head of the Department for Educational Promotion, Religion and Culture. The series was organized by this department of the Pattaya City Education Office in cooperation with the eleven municipal schools, local communities and private-sector partners.
Students at the heart of cultural showcase
Numerous teachers, students from the city schools, parents and many Thai and foreign tourists attended the opening. Through presentations by young people, the project aimed to highlight handicrafts, local wisdom and typical cultural characteristics of Pattaya, and to strengthen awareness of their long-term value.
Market stalls and exhibitions highlight student work
The main attraction consisted of exhibition areas and sales stalls offering handcrafted products, traditional dishes and desserts, all produced by students from the eleven participating schools. On stage, the program featured classical Thai dance performances, ensembles playing Thai music, country music in the Luk Thung style, folk theatre pieces and traditional games led by the young participants.
Strong crowds and limited run at the beach
The combination of market atmosphere, live demonstrations and the beach setting attracted large crowds on the opening night, with visitors watching the performances at close range. The Pattaya Cultural Stage Project 2026 was scheduled to run until 14 February 2026, daily from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Central Pattaya Beach.
Annual platform for heritage and youth initiative
According to the organizers, the annually held event honored the country’s rich cultural heritage while serving as a platform for creativity and initiative among the younger generation.
“These cultural treasures must be passed on and Pattaya’s own identity strengthened, with residents and tourists explicitly invited to support the students’ activities.”
said Boongnam Lekcharoen, head of the Department for Educational Promotion, Religion and Culture.
Cultural focus as a strategy for Pattaya’s future
Set directly on the beach, the city placed greater emphasis on tradition, art and local identity as part of this project. The initiative was intended not only to preserve culture but also to attract new visitors to Pattaya by showcasing its living heritage.
