BANGKOK, THAILAND – A woman has accused police of stealing valuable items from her apartment during a raid.
Chaniporn “Manao” Charoenphum claims that officers from the Khlong Tan Police Station took possessions from her condominium on June 25th. When the items were returned, she stated that several pieces were missing and did not match the originals.
The Metropolitan Police Division 5 is reportedly planning to question Manao on June 30th regarding her accusations.

Earlier on June 25th, officers conducted a search of the condominium located in Soi Phatthanakan 20. They arrested Chaniporn’s 42-year-old husband, Wattanapong “Auan” Boonprakob, on suspicion of drug-related offenses.
Chaniporn stated that while no illegal items were found during the search, she was still forced to witness the confiscation of the family’s valuables.

She identified a gold necklace valued at over 340,000 Baht and a gold bracelet worth more than 200,000 Baht as missing. Additionally, she reported the disappearance of over ten watches, including a Tag Heuer, and 60,000 Baht in cash, along with other personal belongings.
However, the official inventory list from the raid only documented one gold necklace, one gold bracelet, a tablet, several watches, and just 10,000 Baht in cash. Manao also noted that the Tag Heuer was not returned and that the bracelet she did receive differed in design and weight, leading her to believe it was not real gold.

Wattanapong was released on bail after the raid and later sentenced to four years and six months in prison. An appeal process for his conviction is currently underway.
Despite the sentencing, Chaniporn maintains that the seized items were not linked to any alleged criminal proceeds.

Due to the missing and altered items, Chaniporn has filed complaints with several government agencies in an effort to recover the valuables.
She claims that after filing her complaints, she received threatening phone calls from officers at the Khlong Tan Police Station. The callers allegedly urged her to drop the matter for her own safety.

Chaniporn sought legal counsel from lawyer Ronnarong Kaewphet, who submitted the complaint to the Metropolitan Police Bureau.
According to reports, officers from the Metropolitan Police Division 5 are scheduled for an extensive interview with Manao on June 30th.
