CHANTHABURI, THAILAND – A late-night confrontation in Na Yai Am district left two people dead and a man in police custody.
On the night of 14 November 2025, police in Chang Kham subdistrict, Chanthaburi province, reported that Mr. Sanit, aged 38, arrived at a small convenience store around 23:00 and confronted his 28-year-old wife, Ms. Phurichaya, who was sitting with 29-year-old Mr. Nattapol.
Violent argument turns deadly
According to local police investigators, the confrontation escalated within minutes after Mr. Sanit questioned the pair about their relationship. Witness accounts indicated that the situation intensified rapidly, leading to gunfire.
Using a 9 mm pistol, the suspect fired nine shots. Officers discovered Mr. Nattapol near a Honda Wave motorcycle with wounds to the head, neck, chest, abdomen, and arm, while Ms. Phurichaya was found near a Ford pickup truck with multiple gunshot injuries to the face and torso. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
The shop owner told investigators that he did not know any of the three individuals and said the encounter developed abruptly shortly before 23:00.
Confession and charges
After the shooting, Mr. Sanit surrendered to local authorities, handing over the firearm allegedly used in the attack. He admitted to the killings and told officers that he had attempted to bring his wife to the hospital before realizing she had died on site.
Police recovered nine bullet casings and one lodged projectile at the scene. The provincial command charged him with:
• Murder,
• Illegal possession of a firearm, and
• Unlawful discharge of a weapon.
Officials stated that further interrogations were underway before formal court proceedings.

Provincial investigators emphasized that serious domestic disputes were rare in Chanthaburi, a province better known for its gem trade and fruit farms. The case has renewed public concern over civilian gun use and domestic violence in rural parts of Thailand.
“This case shows how quickly personal conflicts can turn into deadly violence,”
said an unnamed police representative the morning after the shooting.
