BANGKOK, THAILAND – Thailand’s Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau arrested four suspects nationwide in a crackdown on online child sexual abuse material and seized multiple devices.
CCIB orders nationwide push against online abuse material
Police said Pol Gen Surapol Prembutr, commander of the Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB), had significantly tightened measures against abuse images and videos circulating online.
According to authorities, the operation targeted suspected distribution and sale of such material via Telegram and X, focusing on content involving victims under 18.
Officers justified the intensified action by stating that the online spread of this material posed an immediate danger to children and adolescents.
Special TICAC unit leads court‑approved searches
The investigation was led by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (TICAC) of the Anti-Online Crime Division.
Police teams searched four locations across the country based on court-issued warrants.
Authorities said the operation aimed not only to secure evidence but also to identify structures behind the alleged trading of abuse material.
Bangkok Lat Krabang: Suspected Telegram administrator detained
In a house in Bangkok’s Lat Krabang district, officers arrested 37-year-old Nithiphat, who was believed to have acted as administrator of a Telegram group.
Investigators said the group had distributed large volumes of illegal video content, including child sexual abuse material.
They also reported indications of paid subscriptions and recordings allegedly made without the consent of those affected.
Content allegedly spread via X account
In a condominium room in Mueang Samut Prakan district, police detained 30-year-old Tharitkamon and seized an iPhone 17 Pro Max and an 11‑inch iPad Pro.
According to police statements, the devices contained large quantities of child sexual abuse material.
The suspect was alleged to have shared content via his account on X, formerly Twitter.
Allegation of selling content featuring underage victim
During another raid in Bo Win in Si Racha district, Chon Buri province, officers arrested 30-year-old Kriangsak, who was suspected of operating a separate Telegram account.
Police confiscated a mobile phone and a desktop computer and accused him of possessing and commercially distributing illegal content.
Investigators said the material was believed to include recordings featuring an underage female victim.
Ayutthaya arrest linked to identifiable minor
In Bang Pa-in district of Ayutthaya province, police arrested 23-year-old Phanuphong and seized a mobile phone.
According to officers, the device contained child sexual abuse material as well as recordings showing an identifiable minor.
Police said the suspect had allegedly possessed the material for several years.
Investigations expand to networks and money flows
All four suspects were handed over to the competent authorities for criminal prosecution, police said.
The allegations ranged from the import and distribution of illegal computer data to possession and commercial dissemination.
Investigators announced they would broaden the case to identify additional suspects, networks and financial flows.
The CCIB described the operation as part of its strategy to strengthen online safety for children and young people.
