Police Storm Packed Thai Pub – Hundreds Caught in Drug Scandal
A late-night police raid left partygoers in Suphan Buri reeling. Officers stormed the 24 Bar and out of 1,042 clubbers tested, an astonishing 415 were found positive for illegal drugs.
Among those caught were 50 underage teenagers, including one as young as 15. Fear and confusion swept through the club as police sealed off exits and moved in.
Panic as Party Turns Sour
It was just after 1:30am when a police special operations unit, from the Department of Provincial Administration (DOPA), made their move. More than a thousand revellers, most still dancing, faced an unexpected end to their night.
‘People tried to run, but every exit was blocked off,’ said one witness. ‘There was chaos everywhere.’ Plastic drug bags and knives littered the floor, tossed aside as police rounded up shocked guests.
Staggering Test Results – Teenagers Among the Guilty
Urine tests revealed the shocking truth: out of 1,042 guests, 415 had taken illegal substances. That’s nearly 40% of the entire crowd.
Of the 50 underage partygoers, 35 tested positive for drugs. Many are now facing criminal proceedings – their futures left hanging in the balance.
Club Owner in Hot Water
The owner of 24 Bar now faces a long list of charges:
- Letting minors into the club
- Serving alcohol to under-20s
- Staying open way past legal hours
- Allowing illegal drug use on the premises
Local authorities aren’t holding back. ‘This situation is totally unacceptable,’ said a police spokesperson.
Five-Year Ban Looms for Suphan Buri Hotspot
Governor Piriya Chanthadilok, 54, a career official, wants a tough response. He’s promised the club will shut for five years, as demanded by strict rules set by Thailand’s former military government.
‘We never found any drugs here before,’ the governor said. ‘But a famous DJ drew huge crowds. We had to act before things got worse.’
Neighbours Force Police Action
Officers only raided the club after repeated complaints from worried locals who’d witnessed illegal behaviour. DOPA’s special unit planned everything, knowing the club would be crowded.
All 415 drug users now face punishment – either criminal charges or forced rehab, depending on the case. Police hope this bold stand will scare off drug dealers and reckless club owners across Thailand.

Authorities say the drug problem is no longer being ignored. Surprise raids on clubs are set to increase – not just in tourist hotspots but everywhere.
