Police React Fast – Arrest at Bangkok Airport
Police Colonel Chatree Chookhaew, head of Phuket City Police, launches an immediate manhunt. Officers quickly identify Georgii and discover he is trying to flee Thailand. Investigators track the tourist to Phuket Airport, heading for Bangkok.
Authorities coordinate across two airports. At 3:45pm the next day, officers intercept Georgii at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport. He is arrested right before boarding his plane out of the country.
Interrogation, Confession and Legal Fallout
Back at the police station, Georgii admits everything during questioning. ‘He confessed straight away,’ says Colonel Chatree. The Russian is brought back to Phuket, where he now faces serious charges: ‘public indecency’. Under Thai law, that could mean up to a year behind bars, a fine up to 20,000 Baht, or both.
Legal experts warn, ‘The prosecution is not taking this lightly.’ He is set to appear in court soon.
Expulsion and Blacklist: The Consequences Mount
But jail isn’t his only worry. Police want Georgii’s visa cancelled and his name added to the immigration blacklist. That would mean permanent expulsion and a lifetime ban from returning to Thailand. Thai authorities are sending a tough signal.
