Five-Kilometre Quarantine Declared
Bangkok’s authorities have sounded the alarm: a rabid stray dog was discovered on Chuan Samphan Road in Khok Faed, triggering an immediate five-kilometre restriction zone. The alert covers eight districts, including Khok Faed, North Khu, Lam Phak Chi, and Nong Chok in Nong Chok district, Saen Saeb in Min Buri, and Lam Pla Thiew and Thap Yao in Lat Krabang.
The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) issued a stern warning: “Do not touch stray animals! Rabies is fatal and can be transmitted through a simple bite.” The Livestock Development Office for Area 1 has enforced the order from September 17 to October 16—a full 30 days of heightened vigilance.
How to Spot Rabid Animals
Authorities have outlined clear symptoms to watch for in local animals. Residents are urged to contact the Prawet Dog Station at 0 2328 7460 or 0 2328 7355 if they spot:

The order also strictly prohibits any movement of dogs or dead animals within the quarantine zone without prior approval from veterinarians or official livestock officers.
