PATTAYA, Thailand – A video from Pattaya Bay has sparked anger after four foreign couples, reportedly Russian tourists, were filmed behaving drunkenly and intimately in public.
Video sparks criticism
The clip, shared on social media, shows eight tourists – four men and four women – in the Nong Prue area of Bang Lamung district. According to witnesses, the group appeared intoxicated as they entered the sea, embracing and kissing pair by pair while engaging in intimate behavior in the water.
Local residents and other tourists repeatedly told the group to stop, but they ignored the warnings and openly continued their conduct.
Witness filmed the incident
A 44-year-old witness reported that he recorded and published the video. He stated the scene occurred between approximately 03:00 and 04:00, when the group appeared heavily drunk and acted inappropriately.
Reporters spoke with the man around 02:00 on May 6, 2026. The exact date of the incident was not disclosed.
Mr. Mon aims to secure evidence
“I was angry about the behavior and tried to intervene, but the group did not react and the behavior escalated further.”
said Mr. Mon, the witness.
“I recorded the video so that authorities can use it as evidence. Such behavior damages Pattaya’s image as a tourist destination and casts a bad light on Thailand.”
