Deputy Mayor supports city school players ahead of Eastern Region LAO Sports Competition in Rayong

PATTAYA, THAILAND – In a show of civic support for youth sports, Deputy Mayor Manoch Nongyai presented team jerseys and financial assistance to the futsal athletes of Pattaya City School 8 ahead of the region’s major local games next month.

Boosting morale before a major regional event

Held at the Pattaya City Hall meeting room on October 29, 2025, the handover ceremony saw Nongyai, along with other city administrators, officially present 14 new jerseys and travel funding to the under-12 futsal team. The assistance aims to prepare the young athletes for their participation in the 40th Thailand Local Administrative Organization (LAO) Sports Competition, Eastern Region, also known as the Taksin Rayong Games 2025.

The tournament, taking place in Rayong Province from November 6 to 15, 2025, will gather local government teams from across the eastern region. For Pattaya, the youth futsal squad will carry the city’s colors and aspirations.

Encouraging sports and community health

City officials described the donation as part of an ongoing effort to promote sports participation, nurture young talent, and enhance community well-being. The support also aligns with Pattaya’s broader goal of improving the quality of life for residents through local education and athletic initiatives.

According to the Deputy Mayor, encouraging young athletes contributes to building discipline, teamwork, and stronger local identity.

“SUPPORTING YOUTH SPORTS MEANS INVESTING IN THE FUTURE STRENGTH OF OUR COMMUNITY”,

Nongyai said during the event.

Inspiring the city’s next generation

The Pattaya City School 8 players and their coaches expressed appreciation for the city’s backing, noting that the new uniforms and travel funds would help them focus on performance and representation rather than logistics. The upcoming Rayong competition is considered one of the key regional stages for showcasing inter-school and local government sporting projects.

Through such programs, Pattaya City continues to position youth athletic development as a priority in its social initiatives, combining support for education, recreation, and community engagement.

Event date: October 29, 2025
Competition dates: November 6–15, 2025
Hosted in: Rayong Province
Representative team: Pattaya City School 8 under-12 futsal team

As the young athletes prepare to compete, city leaders say they see the team not only as sports representatives but also as ambassadors for Pattaya’s renewed focus on youth empowerment and health.
