Reports of oil residues on the beach of Coral Island triggered the deployment of an integrated task force led by the Royal Thai Navy to assess the situation on site.
Specialists from the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources and the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Phuket Office supported the Navy and used naval vessels for security and reconnaissance around the affected area.

According to the Pollution Control Department, there was currently no further danger for swimmers or residents, remaining oil had been collected and water quality was within the normal range.
