PATTAYA, THAILAND – A foreign man who stripped naked and walked along the shoreline at a popular fishing spot in Pattaya was filmed by a local angler, triggering a wide online debate.
Angler reports incident at Cozy Beach
The 34-year-old Sureesri Ruangsooksut, known online as “Aunt Sureesri Ruangsooksut,” had gone fishing on the morning of January 26, 2026, in the Soi Phratamnak / Cozy Beach area (Phra Tamnak Soi 4). The rocky section was considered a regular after-work meeting point for local anglers. According to her account, she noticed a foreign man walking onto the rocks, where he completely undressed and appeared as if he wanted to go into the water or play in it.
When she turned around and saw him naked, she addressed him in English and told him to put his clothes back on.
Thumbs-up instead of compliance
Instead of responding, the man only looked at her, gave a thumbs-up sign and continued walking fully naked along the shoreline, Sureesri reported.
“I pointed directly at him and told him to put his boxer shorts back on and stop behaving like that, but he acted as if he didn’t understand anything and only gave a thumbs-up,”
said Sureesri Ruangsooksut, angler. Feeling visibly unsettled, she took out her phone and filmed the scene as evidence.
Shortly afterwards she lost sight of the man, who, according to her description, disappeared from view along the coast.
Locals say similar scenes seen before
When she later returned to the fishing spot, she saw the same man again, this time wearing trousers. In conversations with other anglers on site, she learned that the foreigner had reportedly attracted attention there several times with similar behavior. Other people present consistently stated that they recognised him and had observed such scenes before, describing the conduct as unpleasant and disruptive for anglers who regularly used the rocky area.
Facebook clip fuels online discussion
Sureesri posted the clip and her account on the morning of January 26 on her personal Facebook profile. The post spread quickly, with numerous users expressing surprise and concern in the comments about such behavior in a public area used by both locals and tourists. She wrote that the incident had almost made her “burst” with frustration.
Many commenters stressed that the bathing and fishing beach was seen as a family-friendly place and that appearing naked in public there was not acceptable.
Fears for Pattaya’s tourism image
In an interview with reporters from The Pattaya News at around 3 a.m. on January 27, 2026, Sureesri repeated the details and linked them to an appeal for vigilance.
“Such behavior is inappropriate and can affect the image of tourism in the area,”
said Sureesri Ruangsooksut, angler. She called on residents and visitors to stay alert and to prevent similar incidents as far as possible.
Up to the time of the interview, there were no official indications of possible legal steps or investigations.
