Bang Bua Thong, Thailand – A 59-year-old delivery driver perished in a head-on collision with a public bus late on May 31st. The man was reportedly traveling against the direction of traffic on Bang Kruai–Sai Noi Road when his motorcycle collided with Bus Line 134. Emergency services and police arrived at the scene around 1:00 AM.
Head-on collision in front of a shopping center
The collision occurred in front of a department store in Tambon Bang Bua Thong, Amphoe Bang Bua Thong. The severely damaged motorcycle was lodged in the front of the bus, which operates between Bua Thong Housing Estate and Mo Chit 2. Rescue workers from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation and officers from the Bang Bua Thong Station discovered the driver next to the bus; he died at the scene. The road had to be secured following the accident.

The bus driver, Nattapol, stated that the motorcyclist had come from the opposite direction, changed lanes, and then abruptly swerved back, resulting in the head-on collision. His account places responsibility on the oncoming driver. Witnesses, however, reported that the bus was attempting to overtake a taxi when the approaching motorcyclist suddenly appeared on the same lane, making an evasive maneuver impossible. Victim was on delivery duty
The deceased was identified as Worapot; his surname was not provided. He was 59 years old and worked as a delivery driver. Shortly after the accident, his phone received a call from the delivery dispatch questioning, “Where is the order now?” Police later informed the caller of the fatal outcome.
Residents call accident site a danger zone
Local residents report that drivers frequently travel against the traffic flow at the affected location, often to take shortcuts over bridge areas. Such behavior has led to serious accidents in the past. Similar misconduct is also reported from tourist-heavy areas like Pattaya, where one-way streets and restricted zones are frequently ignored. These observations point to recurring traffic risks.
Police continue investigation; body sent for autopsy
The Bang Bua Thong police are conducting an investigation and will re-interview the bus driver to clarify the exact sequence of events. Emergency responders had secured the accident site and gathered initial witness statements. The body was transferred to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for an autopsy, and authorities are now examining the collected evidence and statements as part of the official inquiry.
