BANGKOK, THAILAND – Ongoing tensions in the Middle East led eight airlines to cancel a total of 108 flights at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport since 28 February, but no passengers were left stranded.
More than 100 flights canceled in four days
According to airport information, eight airlines suspended services on routes affected by the situation in the Middle East. Between 28 February and 2 March, cancellations added up to 108 flights.
On 2 March alone, 47 flights were canceled, including 24 departures and 23 arrivals. The airlines involved were EL AL Israel Airlines, Air Arabia, Emirates, Qatar Airways, Etihad Airways, Gulf Air, Kuwait Airways and World2Fly.
Airport management stated that the carriers had informed travelers in advance and arranged new bookings. No departing passenger was reported stranded at Suvarnabhumi.
Staff were available on site to provide information to affected travelers. The airport also set up free water stations for people waiting longer than planned.

Authorities advised people planning to travel to the Middle East or neighboring regions in the coming days to verify their flight details. Travelers were told to check the status of their flights directly with their airline before heading to the airport.
Suvarnabhumi reported that it was closely monitoring the situation. The airport said it was coordinating with the carriers to manage schedules and assist passengers.
Rebookings and current flight information were available directly from the airlines, at airport counters or through the respective mobile apps. Passengers were encouraged to use these channels for the latest updates.
