KBank Login Chaos

Customers frustrated by new app-based online banking procedures.

BANGKOK, THAILAND – A new online banking login procedure by KBank has sparked significant confusion and frustration among its customers.

The bank has announced a fundamental change to its online banking registration process, mandating an app-based scan for website access. This shift, set to take effect in May, has left many customers bewildered and unable to access their accounts.

Previously, customers could log in to the KBiz website using a password. This abrupt transition has caused widespread disruption not only for the author of the complaint but also for their acquaintances. The communication surrounding this change has also been criticized as inadequate, with some customers not even receiving the initial notification.

App Conflicts Cause Access Issues

One customer reported that their wife initially believed the new rules might only apply to foreign account holders. However, when she attempted to log into her KBiz account, she too was prompted with the new scan requirement.

The situation worsened when she tried to download the required KBiz-App to perform the scan. Her smartphone indicated that the KPlus-App was already installed, preventing the KBiz-App installation. This is problematic as the KPlus-App does not support the scan function for website logins.

Customer Weighs Bank Switch

This situation renders the customer effectively unable to access her accounts, caught between incompatible banking applications. Such a predicament has left the customer questioning the bank’s strategy.

Given these circumstances, the customer is now seriously considering switching to a different bank. They have posed a question to the editorial team and readers, seeking similar experiences or potential solutions to the app problem. The editorial team has also invited readers to share their experiences in the comments section.
