Israeli Gang Leader Arrested on Koh Samui

Matan Arviv, head of the Avengers criminal syndicate, captured in luxury villa after joint operation by Thai police and Interpol.

KOH SAMUI, THAILAND – Thai immigration police arrested a suspected Israeli gang leader on Koh Samui on April 29, 2026.

Raid in the Luxury Villa

Investigators tracked the fugitive to a luxurious villa on the resort island. At the time of arrest, Matan Arviv was accompanied by four other individuals.
Thai authorities worked closely with Interpol and the Israeli embassy. The operation followed targeted tips about the suspect’s location.

Dangerous Leader of the Avengers

The Israeli embassy classified the detainee as a highly dangerous person. He is considered the operational leader of the Avengers gang, a notorious Israeli criminal syndicate.
Arviv has a long criminal record. He previously served prison sentences for theft, fraud, illegal weapons possession, and drug trafficking.

Serious Charges from Home

In Israel, the 28-year-old now faces numerous new indictments. The charges are severe and include murder as well as the manufacture and supply of explosives.
He is also accused of bomb attacks, threats, and drug offenses involving minors. He fled to Thailand to evade the Israeli justice system.

No Safe Haven for Criminals

Major General Chutharet Yingyongdamrongkul stated that Thailand must not be a hiding place for international fugitives. Authorities aim to consistently remove foreigners who pose a threat.
The operation is part of a massive crackdown on transnational crime. Particularly in tourist areas like Koh Samui, police are intensifying checks on foreign networks.

Deportation and Lifetime Ban

Thai authorities revoked Arviv’s residence permit with immediate effect. He was placed on a blacklist and is banned from re-entering Thailand permanently.
Officials are now preparing his deportation to Israel. Police ask the public to report suspicious activities by foreigners via hotline 1178.

Cooperation Against Crime

This case highlights the close cooperation between Thai and Israeli security forces. Only through international information exchange was the arrest of the alleged serious criminal possible.
