German Tourist Involved in Pattaya Road Crash

Thai pedestrian, 29, suffered severe head injury as police also found suspected methamphetamine in his bag

PATTAYA, THAILAND – A 29-year-old pedestrian was seriously injured in a collision with a motorcycle on Pattaya Klang Road, where police also discovered a substance suspected to be methamphetamine in his bag.

Early Sunday morning crash

The collision occurred at around 4:40 a.m. on 19 April 2026 on Pattaya Klang Road. Pattaya City Police were alerted to a crash involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian.

Officers went to the scene and coordinated assistance with rescuers from Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Pattaya. Their priority was to provide rapid first aid directly at the roadside.

Severely injured pedestrian from Sa Kaeo

Emergency workers found the injured pedestrian in the middle of the road. He was identified as Mr. Kittithat Phonsari, 29, from Sa Kaeo province.

He lay exhausted on the ground with a severe head laceration and heavy blood loss. Rescuers administered first aid and then transported him to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.

No further details were initially released about his medical condition. Authorities did not comment on possible long-term consequences of the head injury.

Motorcyclist: German tourist remained at scene

The motorcycle involved was a black Honda PCX with a license plate from Surin province. The rider, described as a German tourist, suffered only minor abrasions.

According to police, he was sober, remained calm and cooperated at the scene. Immediate medical treatment for him was not considered necessary.

Suspicious substance found in shoulder bag

While officers assisted the injured man and searched his black shoulder bag for identification documents, they discovered a small zip-lock bag. Inside were clear crystalline shards resembling methamphetamine, commonly known as “Ice.”

Authorities secured the suspected drug as evidence and announced laboratory tests. Depending on the results, they said they would consider further legal steps under narcotics laws.

Initial witness accounts of the crash

Preliminary witness statements indicated that Mr. Kittithat was crossing the road when the motorcycle, which was travelling straight ahead, struck him. The impact was reportedly strong.

Both the pedestrian and the motorcycle then slid a considerable distance along the road. This was said to have contributed to the injuries reported at the scene.

Responsibility for the crash had not yet been conclusively determined. Police stated that the exact circumstances remained under investigation.

Police review CCTV and pursue two lines of inquiry

Investigators from Pattaya Police planned to review footage from nearby CCTV cameras and take detailed statements from all parties involved. Their aim was to reconstruct the precise cause of the accident.

At the same time, the examination of the seized substance was being expanded to determine whether a violation of narcotics law had occurred. Only after the lab results would it be clear whether the crystals were in fact “Ice.”
