PHUKET, THAILAND – A 27-year-old man jumped from the Sarasin Bridge in Thalang on August 7 and was pulled from the water by a fisherman. A fisherman brought him to shore, then he was taken to Thalang Hospital for treatment.
The fisherman was heading out to sea in his boat when he saw Sarawut leap from the bridge near the pier behind Wat Tha Chatchai. He sped over, hauled the man aboard, and brought him to the pier.
Fisherman brings man to shore
The fisherman reacted the moment he spotted the man in the water. He drove his boat to him, helped him onboard, and took him to the nearby pier behind Wat Tha Chatchai.
Rescue workers from Mai Khao took over at the pier and gave first aid. The 27-year-old was then rushed to Thalang Hospital for medical care.
Police probe the circumstances
The incident reportedly happened around 6:55 am. Tha Chatchai Police Station got word about 15 minutes later.
Sarawut was taken to Thalang Hospital for further treatment and remains under medical care there. Police contacted his family and continue investigating what led to the jump.
Quick help after the plunge
The fisherman did not hesitate when he saw the man struggling in the water. He navigated his boat to him, pulled him aboard, and brought him to the pier behind Wat Tha Chatchai.
Rescue workers from Mai Khao provided first aid on the spot. After that, the 27-year-old was taken to Thalang Hospital for medical attention.
