KAMPHAENG PHET, THAILAND – Police in Khlong Lan detained a foreign man who rode a motorcycle naked through the town’s fresh market early Sunday morning.
The unusual event occurred around 7:30 a.m. on November 17, 2025, at Khlong-Lan Fresh Market in Kamphaeng Phet province, according to statements by local police officers. Eyewitness videos filmed near a small roadside shop quickly circulated on social media.
Police identify intoxicated man
Officers from the Khlong Lan Police Station confirmed that the man, estimated to be in his 30s, showed no awareness of the crowd’s reaction as he walked into a store without clothing, using one hand to cover his lower body. Several market visitors called the police immediately after witnessing the scene.
The officers found the man minutes later sitting on a chair near a billiard table, apparently heavily intoxicated.
“He was in an intoxicated condition and showed cooperation,”
said Khlong Lan Police officers.
Authorities reminded the man that such conduct violates Thai public decency laws but decided not to file formal charges.
Wife brings clothes and takes him home
Shortly afterward, a Thai woman presented herself to officers as the man’s wife, bringing clothes and assisting him in leaving the market area without further disturbance.
“His wife took him home,”
said Khlong Lan Police officers.
Police issue reminders on public behavior
Following the incident, the Khlong Lan district authorities issued a list of reminders for residents and foreign visitors on acceptable conduct in public spaces:
• Public nudity can be classified as a serious indecency offense.
• Alcohol consumption linked to disorderly behavior can lead to strict sanctions.
• Repeated misconduct may result in fines following initial police warnings.
Rural incident draws online attention
Kamphaeng Phet, located about 350 kilometers northwest of Bangkok, rarely draws international attention and is home to roughly 700,000 residents. Local residents expressed relief that the event ended peacefully, and the market resumed normal operations soon after. However, video clips from the scene continued to circulate widely online in the following hours.
