PATTAYA, THAILAND – City officials and police arrested an alleged drug user on Beach Road and secured evidence following a public tip.
Public tip triggered beachside operation
Municipal responders in Pattaya were deployed to a section of Beach Road after concerned citizens reported suspicious behavior near the entrance to Soi 6 on the beach side. On arrival, officers observed activities they linked to illegal drug use in the area, which is known as a busy tourist zone with numerous bars and accommodations.
Joint raid by city authorities and police
In a coordinated action, municipal enforcement teams worked with the Pattaya City Police Station. During the operation, one person was caught in the act of consuming prohibited substances and was arrested at the scene.
Drugs, knives and paraphernalia seized
Officers confiscated an unspecified quantity of drugs as evidence. They also found two small knives and apparent drug paraphernalia during the search.
Interrogation under strict narcotics laws
The suspect was taken into custody and transferred to Pattaya City Police Station for questioning by investigators. Police said they initiated further steps to prepare legal action under the country’s strict narcotics laws, which provide for significant penalties for drug use and possession.
Authorities highlight cooperation in tourist zones
A spokesperson for the agencies involved said the operation underscored close coordination between the city administration and police in tackling open drug-related crime in heavily used tourist areas of Pattaya.
