PHANG-NGA, THAILAND – Donald Duck Bay in the Similan Islands has been named among the world’s top ten beaches for 2026. The prestigious ranking was released on May 4, 2026 by World’s 50 Best Beaches.

Donald Duck Bay, also known as Ao Kuek, secured the 10th place in the list of the world’s best 50 beaches. Over 1,000 tourism experts and beach ambassadors worldwide voted for the 2026 ranking.
The experts evaluated criteria such as natural beauty, tranquility, and uniqueness. Ecosystem richness and visitor numbers also played a decisive role.
Besondere Felsen prägen das Bild
The beach is located on island number eight in the Similan Islands National Park in Phang-nga province. It is famous for its fine white sand and crystal-clear blue seawater.
A special hallmark is the giant granite rocks, which have unusual shapes and are known as sailing stones. These rock formations are now considered the landmark of the entire Similan Islands.

The nature in Donald Duck Bay is exceptionally well preserved and shows itself in full splendor. This is mainly due to strict restrictions on visitor opening hours.

Besides Donald Duck Bay, two other Thai beaches made it into the international top list. Paradise Beach reached 23rd place, while Freedom Beach was voted 27th.
This success brings Thailand renewed international fame and strengthens its image as a first-class travel destination. The awards give tourism in Phang-nga province and the whole country an important boost.
