PATTAYA, THAILAND – Chonburi province is experiencing a significant upturn in its tourism sector, with impressive visitor numbers and successful promotional efforts driving growth.
At the annual general meeting of the Chonburi Tourism Association on June 19, 2026, officials not only celebrated the conclusion of a successful roadshow but also presented striking figures for the popular coastal region. The association’s president expressed high satisfaction with the recent “Sales Call” tour, which covered Phitsanulok and Nakhon Sawan provinces in late April. This initiative appears to have ignited interest in the northern Thai market, leading to a steady influx of bookings for hotels and accommodations in Chonburi.
Officials presented figures indicating a robust year for tourism in the province. From January to mid-June 2026, Chonburi welcomed a total of 11,528,000 tourists. This encompassed both domestic and international visitors. Local travelers constituted the majority, with 7,026,797 Thais exploring the province’s attractions. International arrivals reached 4,501,203, primarily from countries including China, Malaysia, India, Russia, and South Korea.
Looking ahead, the province is preparing for a significant presence at the International Tourism Exchange (ITB) in late October, scheduled from October 21 to 23, 2026. This global travel industry event is seen as a crucial platform for forging new international connections and laying the groundwork for sustained regional growth. The TAT office in Pattaya has extended a strong invitation to local operators and businesses to join the delegation, aiming to expand international networks.
Roadshow brings booking boost from the north
Thitiphat Siranatsrikul, President of the Chonburi Tourism Association, was highly pleased with the recent “Sales Call” tour. The trip, which spanned four days at the end of April, traversed the provinces of Phitsanulok and Nakhon Sawan.
“The market in Northern Thailand has caught fire. Bookings for hotels and accommodations in Chonburi are already steadily pouring in. For the president, this is a clear sign that the second half of the year will bring a strong boost.”
said Thitiphat Siranatsrikul, President of the Chonburi Tourism Association.
Over 4.5 million international guests in Chonburi
Chaiwat Tamtai, Director of the TAT office in Pattaya, laid out the bare figures. From January to mid-June 2026, exactly 11,528,000 tourists flocked to Chonburi province – the total number of all visitors, consisting of domestic and international guests.
“The lion’s share is made up of local travelers. 7,026,797 Thais discovered the beaches and nightlife for themselves. From abroad came 4,501,203 holidaymakers, primarily from China, Malaysia, India, Russia, and South Korea.”

Pattaya gears up for the big ITB stage
The focus is now firmly on the future. Participation in the International Tourism Exchange (ITB) is firmly scheduled for the end of October. The fair is considered a meeting point for the global travel industry and is intended to open new doors from October 21 to 23, 2026.
