PATHUM THANI, Thailand – A Chinese student was found dead after a fall from a nine‑storey dormitory in Pathum Thani, where police later discovered a second body and signs of a violent crime in his room.
Night-time fall triggers emergency response
Shortly after 2:30 a.m. on 5 April 2026, Khlong Luang police received an emergency call about a person who had fallen from a building in Khlong Nueng, in Pathum Thani province. Officers were dispatched along with investigators, a doctor from Thammasat-Chalermprakiat Hospital and volunteers from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation.
At the east wing beside the nine-storey dormitory, responders found a man lying dead at the base of the building. Police secured the area and began standard investigative procedures at the scene.
The body was transferred to the forensic department of Thammasat-Chalermprakiat Hospital to determine the exact cause of death. No immediate details on injuries were released at the site.
Resident’s account from upper floors
A resident reported that at about 1:00 a.m. he heard knocking on his door on the ninth floor. When he opened it, he saw an injured man standing outside.
Out of fear, the resident closed the door again and called building security rather than intervening directly. Police later inspected the dormitory during the night and found initial indications on the eighth floor that it could have been the point from which the man fell.
Officers planned to review the building’s surveillance camera footage in the morning to clarify the movements of the victim before the fall. At that stage, the man’s identity, nationality and room number remained unknown.
CCTV leads investigators to eighth-floor room
Around 8:00 a.m., investigators returned to the dormitory to review CCTV footage together with the building management. The recordings guided officers to a specific room on the eighth floor believed to be linked to the deceased.
When no one responded to repeated knocking, police used a spare keycard provided by management to enter the room. Inside, they began a detailed search for evidence related to the fall and any possible accompanying offences.
The room was later confirmed as having been rented by the dead man. Investigators focused on reconstructing his final movements using both the CCTV material and the condition of the room.
Signs of violent crime inside the dorm room
Inside the room, officers found clear indications of a potential violent crime. Objects were scattered, bloodstains were visible, and English-language writings were found on the wall.
A passport located in the room identified the deceased as MR. DANZENG PINGCUO, a 30-year-old Chinese national. He was a first-year university student who had been renting the dormitory room since June 2025.
These findings led investigators to treat the room as a full crime scene. Evidence was documented and collected for forensic analysis to determine whether an assault or other criminal act had occurred before the fall.
Second body found in bathroom
During a further search, police discovered the body of a woman in the bathroom of the same room. She was later identified as Natthanicha from Uthai Thani, a student at the same university as Danzeng.
Officers noted injuries on her body that suggested the use of physical force. Her remains were sent to the forensic department of Thammasat-Chalermprakiat Hospital for a detailed post-mortem examination.
The discovery of the second body shifted the focus of the case to a suspected double death linked to violence within the dormitory. Investigators examined whether the deaths were connected and in what sequence the events had occurred.
Forensic examinations and ongoing inquiry
A doctor estimated that the woman had been dead for at least eight hours before being found. Forensic examinations were expected to clarify both the time and precise cause of death for each of the two individuals.
Police Lieutenant Weerawat Niyomsap of Khlong Luang Police Station said the scene had been fully documented and witnesses had been interviewed.
“The crime scene has been recorded and witnesses questioned. Investigations into the background and the exact sequence of events are ongoing.”

Officers continued to gather evidence from the room, the building’s CCTV system and witness testimonies. The investigation aimed to determine whether the case involved homicide, suicide, or another form of criminal offence.
