KANCHANABURI, Thailand – An elite Thai unit has dismantled a child prostitution ring operating out of a hotel in the border province of Kanchanaburi.

Officers from the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Division conducted a raid on a hotel in the Ban Nuea sub-district of Mueang district. The operation was led by Police Major General Witthaya Sriprasertphap, the head of the special unit.
During the raid on Sunday, the investigators apprehended two hotel employees: Banjob, 57, who worked as a cashier, and Sasa, 43, employed as a housekeeper. Warrants for their arrest had been issued by the Kanchanaburi Provincial Court on June 11, 2026.
The arrests followed an extensive investigation into suspected child exploitation within the hotel premises. The elite unit has been working to combat human trafficking in the region.
