It was supposed to be a nice day. The 34-year-old came home and told her four-year-old daughter: We’ll leave later. Then she lay down for a short rest.
She thought the little one had gone to her grandmother. A fatal mistake. When the mother went to the car, her child was lying motionless on the seat.

Images from a surveillance camera reveal the tragedy. The girl opened the rear right door, climbed in, and pulled the door closed behind her. No adult was nearby.
Police Colonel Yosawat Kaewsuebtanyanit, chief of the Mueang Khon Kaen police station, confirmed:
“The child remained alone in the car for a long time and died from the effects of the heat.”
