CHONBURI, THAILAND – Security footage from an apartment complex in Phan Thong district has revealed a man stealing women’s underwear for the third time from the same location, prompting renewed concern among residents and swift action from police.
Third Late-Night Theft Caught on Camera
The incident occurred at around 1:20 a.m. on 29 October, when CCTV cameras showed a male suspect strolling along the residential road before approaching a rental unit. The footage captured him removing underwear from a drying rack outside the door and fleeing on foot within seconds.
The victim, 31-year-old Ms. Nungreuthai Khlangkasem, discovered the missing items the following morning and filed a complaint with Pol. Lt. Col. Samart Boonrit of the Phanat Nikhom Police Station. Officers have since reviewed the footage and say they have identified the man believed to be responsible.
Resident Distress and a Community on Edge
Ms. Nungreuthai said this was not an isolated intrusion. She explained that two similar thefts had previously occurred at the same property.
“THE PERPETRATOR HAS STRUCK THREE TIMES ALREADY,”
she told reporters, adding that the latest incident was the first to be captured by the new CCTV system she had installed for security.
She described feeling anxious and unsafe following the repeated break-ins.
“I’M SCARED AND WANT THE PUBLIC TO STAY VIGILANT AND HELP KEEP AN EYE OUT. I HOPE THE POLICE CAN APPREHEND HIM QUICKLY,”
she said.
Police Identify Suspect and Warn Residents
Investigators confirmed that a suspect had been preliminarily identified based on the video evidence and additional leads. Police indicated that an arrest was expected soon. Officers also urged nearby residents to remain cautious, particularly during night-time hours, while the case remained under investigation.

The thefts have drawn attention in the Chonburi area, where property-related crime remains a concern. Authorities have treated the case as part of ongoing efforts to increase surveillance and build trust with local tenants.
Residents in the Phan Thong district have been encouraged to improve outdoor lighting, secure drying areas, and review their own camera systems.
