Violent robbery inside condominium
Pattaya police are hunting four suspects after a brutal late-night assault left a British tourist fighting for his life. Officers rushed to a condominium on September 12 after receiving an emergency call and found the 65-year-old with severe head wounds. He was rushed to hospital after receiving first aid on site.
Demand for cash turns violent
The shaken victim told police he had originally agreed to meet two companions, but instead four transgender individuals appeared at his door. They suddenly demanded 10,000 baht each – a total of 40,000 baht (around £870). When he refused, tempers flared.
One of the attackers allegedly pulled out a knife and slashed the Briton across the head. Bleeding heavily, he staggered to a security guard, who immediately called police.
Suspects flee into the night
The gang escaped under cover of darkness and remain at large. Police have launched a manhunt and are combing CCTV footage from the condo and nearby streets.
“The suspects will be prosecuted under Thai law,” a police spokesman confirmed.

This case highlights ongoing concerns over tourist safety in Pattaya, a city famous for its nightlife but notorious for scams, robberies and violence. Older visitors seeking companionship are often targeted, police admit.
