Bangkok political activist accused of brutal assault on driver
A Bangkok political activist with a notorious history of violent behaviour has been accused of assaulting a driver from the U Drink I Drive service during a ride to a shooting range in Chon Buri.
The victim, identified as Chalongchai, was reportedly punched, threatened with a firearm, and later stomped on in a shocking attack by Tanat “Luk Nat” Thanakitamnuay, better known as Hi-So Luk Nat.
Apinara “Prang” Srikarnchana, co-founder of U Drink I Drive, revealed details of the ordeal on her TikTok account @apisrikarnchana on Saturday, September 20, seeking justice for her bloodied employee.
Ride to shooting range turns violent
Prang explained that the incident began when Chalongchai collected Luk Nat from his condominium in Bangkok for a journey to a shooting range in Chon Buri.
According to the driver’s account, Luk Nat slept through most of the ride. But when he woke, he suddenly demanded to know their location. Upon hearing they were near Bang Lamung and approaching Sattahip district, Luk Nat allegedly lashed out, striking Chalongchai in the face without warning.
Chalongchai claimed that when he turned to the back seat to defend himself, he saw a firearm in Luk Nat’s hand. Fearing for his life, he pulled the car over and fled onto the motorway.
Chased, beaten, and humiliated
The driver ran to a nearby roadside hotel, but the ordeal did not end there. He alleged that Luk Nat followed him, pinned him down, and repeatedly stomped on his face.
Bleeding and shaken, Chalongchai phoned his employer Prang, apologising profusely and saying:
“I’m sorry that I tarnished the company’s reputation and stained the uniform with blood.”
Prang described her driver as polite and restrained, insisting he never fought back despite the brutal assault.
Theft and threats to family
The political activist then allegedly stole Chalongchai’s wallet and driving licence before fleeing the scene. When questioned by the company, Luk Nat’s response stunned Prang further.
“I took them so I could find out where he lives and threaten his family further,” he allegedly said.
While Luk Nat later paid compensation and medical costs, totalling 70,000 baht, Prang vowed not to drop the charges, declaring that justice must be served.
Police investigation and past criminal record
Bang Lamung Police confirmed they are collecting evidence and preparing an arrest warrant against Luk Nat.
This is not his first brush with the law. In August, police arrested him after finding more than 20 firearms, 1,000 rounds of ammunition, and drugs including cocaine and crystal meth. He was released on bail of 100,000 baht.
In addition, he has been accused of physically assaulting female party entertainers and forcing them to take drugs.
Despite his history, Luk Nat has continued to evade long-term punishment, fuelling public outrage. With U Drink I Drive now pressing ahead with charges, questions remain over whether this latest attack will finally bring him to justice.
