BANGKOK, THAILAND – A 12-year-old American girl who vanished on August 5 has been found safe in Bangkok. Police and the missing persons center are working together on the case.
The child went missing from her accommodation. The mother confirmed on Facebook at 6.36am on August 7 that her daughter had been found.
Mother confirms safe return
“They found my baby. They found her,” wrote the mother in her Facebook update. She thanked those who had supported the search.
Her immediate priority was to reach her daughter. She planned to release more information after their reunion.
CCTV shows hotel departure
Surveillance footage showed the girl leaving her hotel at around 1.30am on August 5. She was reported missing by 1.25pm that same day.
Police were at the family’s side and officially involved in the search. The girl had no phone, no ID, and no credit cards — only a small amount of coins.
Details still pending
Where the girl was found and who discovered her remains unclear. Her medical condition has not been disclosed.
Police and the missing persons center continued their work. The mother promised an update once she had more information.
Separate case: German tourist found
In Chiang Mai, a German-Turkish tourist reported missing was also found safe. Police said he had deliberately withdrawn from family and friends.
The man explained he had planned a nine-day social media hiatus. No further details on that case were released.
