NONTHABURI, Thailand – Gunfire erupted at Debsirin School in Bangkok’s outskirts Friday morning. At least 15 to 20 people were injured, two critically. The suspected shooter, a student at the school, is dead.
The attack happened in Bang Kruai district, Nonthaburi province, northwest of Bangkok. Around 10.20am local time, Thai police reported the shooter was still inside the school building. Rescue teams evacuated students from the building. Authorities told anyone still trapped inside to hide and wait for help.
Police warn public to stay away
Police urged the public to avoid the school area until further notice. Pasakorn Chaitawiwong, chief of Plai Bang sub-district police, confirmed fatalities to international media. He could not give an exact number.

Shooter identified as student, took own life
Police identified the suspected shooter as a student at the school. According to initial reports, he took his own life after the attack. A motive was not immediately known. Wochenblitz will update this report as soon as more official information becomes available.
