PATTAYA, THAILAND – A 30-year-old South Korean man was arrested in Pattaya for allegedly distributing explicit videos and operating a drug ring.
Immigration police apprehended the suspect, identified only as “Dong-geun,” at his condominium after obtaining a search warrant from the Pattaya City Court. The raid on Sunday led officers directly to the suspect’s apartment, where he was taken into custody without resistance.
The arrest is part of a broader crackdown on cross-border crime initiated by National Police Chief Police General Kittharath Punpetch. The campaign specifically targets foreign criminal networks operating within tourist hotspots, with Pattaya being a principal focus.
Search Warrant Led Officers Directly to the Apartment
Investigators secured a judicial order from the Pattaya City Court prior to the operation. Armed with this warrant, officers from Immigration Division 3 raided the suspect’s residence. The individual, known as “Dong-geun,” was apprehended without incident.
Investigators Accuse Him of Bizarre Online Activities
Authorities accuse the 30-year-old of managing an account on the X platform, where he allegedly posted sexually explicit videos featuring himself and Thai women. Police believe these actions were deliberate and are investigating the dissemination of such content.
Crystal Meth, Ketamine, and Ecstasy Found in the Apartment
Inside the apartment, investigators discovered a substantial quantity of narcotics. The seized items included 21.3 grams of crystal meth, 304.3 grams of ketamine, and 296 ecstasy tablets. Additionally, nine Etomidate vape pods were recovered, and all substances were confiscated.
National Police Chief Ordered Nationwide Raids
This apprehension is not an isolated event, but rather a component of a larger initiative against transnational crime orchestrated by Police General Kittharath Punpetch. The operation aims to dismantle foreign criminal enterprises within popular tourist destinations. Pattaya is under particular scrutiny by the authorities.
Investigation Proceedings for Drugs and Videos
Legal proceedings have been initiated against Dong-geun for possession of illegal drugs and the distribution of explicit videos.
