PHUKET, Thailand – A foreign woman caused significant disruption at Patong Beach yesterday after removing a red warning flag and subsequently endangering herself in rough seas. The same individual later sparked further chaos by running naked along the beach road and assaulting a masseuse. Police discovered cannabis among her belongings but no arrest was made.

Rescue swimmers were forced to intervene on June 10th when the woman removed a bright red warning flag and walked towards the water. Strong winds swept across the beach, and waves crashed violently against the rocks. This incident highlighted significant safety concerns for beachgoers.
Witness Sarid Pongpawn filmed the alarming moment and shared it on Facebook. He commented, “A heart-stopping moment. This foreign woman grabbed a red flag and ran into the sea. Fortunately, the rescue swimmers managed to save her. Thank you!”

The footage showed the woman, wearing a red t-shirt, clambering onto the rocks as a rescue swimmer repeatedly urged her to turn back. Dark clouds loomed in the background, and the surf intensified. A powerful wave struck the woman from behind, nearly sweeping her off her feet.
Only after this near-disaster did she allow herself to be convinced by the rescue swimmers to leave the dangerous coastal area. The Patong Police Station was subsequently alerted to the unfolding situation. The initial removal of the flag suggested a disregard for safety protocols.

The day’s disruptions were far from over. In the evening, Amarin TV reported that the woman proceeded to strip off all her clothing along the beach road and walked naked in public view. Passersby and residents expressed their astonishment at the scene.
Police were called to the area once more, finding a chaotic and distressing situation. The public display raised immediate concerns for her well-being and safety.

Amidst this escalating confusion, a physical altercation occurred. A 25-year-old masseuse told reporters that the woman suddenly attacked her. The masseuse stated, “I was only defending myself.” The masseuse ultimately decided not to press charges, de-escalating further legal action.

During a search of the woman’s belongings, officers discovered a packet of cannabis. Police quickly suspected a connection between drug use and her erratic behavior. However, a formal medical examination to test for drugs was not ordered.
Instead, the police contacted the woman’s younger sister, who was in the vicinity at a salon. The sister confirmed to officers that she could take responsibility for the foreigner. As the masseuse declined to file a complaint, no further legal steps were deemed necessary. Both sisters were permitted to return to their accommodation that same evening. The reason behind the woman’s actions, including removing the flag and entering the sea, remained unclear.
