SUKHOTHAI, THAILAND – A missing lottery ticket believed to be a winner has ignited a heated neighborhood dispute in the Sawankhalok district. The owner filed a complaint after a neighbor allegedly discarded the ticket in the trash. Her husband is now making a public appeal to the finder’s conscience.

Sayan Dokmai, affectionately known as “Auntie Diligent” in her village, had ordered three lottery tickets for 300 Baht from vendor Jeez Dry. The family faces financial hardship and often supplements their income by gathering vegetables and grass.
After the state lottery draw in the evening, she brought the tickets to a neighbor to check the numbers. Upon seeing the winning number 173770, the neighbor reportedly embraced her with joy, believing a substantial prize was within reach.

The woman left the precious papers with the neighbor, who promised to keep them safe. When she returned later, she received disheartening news: the man suddenly claimed none of the tickets had won.
He stated he had promptly thrown them into the trash. However, an immediate search of the garbage yielded only two of the three originally purchased tickets. The supposed winning ticket, number 173770, remained missing as if swallowed by the earth.

Chaiya Kaewprasert, Sayan Dokmai’s husband, resides just three kilometers away and has now publicly supported his wife. He emphasized, “Auntie Khayan is an honest person, she does not lie.”
His appeal is direct: whoever took the ticket should return it. For the family, the winnings would represent a way out of poverty, offering their children hope for a better life free from daily toil.
