PATTAYA, THAILAND – A 22-year-old gas station employee in North Pattaya died following a suspected violent outburst during her night shift. CCTV footage reportedly shows her boyfriend, who also worked there, striking her; he claims he only pushed her. Police are examining the video material, a forensic autopsy has been ordered, and cremation is scheduled for June 4th.
Rescue team found woman unconscious in minimart
The incident occurred on June 1st around 10:00 PM in a convenience store on Sukhumvit Road in North Pattaya, where the 22-year-old Kanoknipa Lepol was working overtime. Rescuers from Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Pattaya began resuscitation efforts at the scene and continued them in the ambulance. The woman was eventually pronounced dead at Bangkok Pattaya Hospital.
CCTV footage shows violence according to family
According to the adoptive father, the footage suggests a physical altercation occurred between the woman and her boyfriend. During the altercation, she reportedly fell to the ground and lost consciousness. Colleagues initially claimed she had consumed energy drinks and kratom water, leading to shock. However, they later admitted they had not immediately disclosed the full truth out of fear of the boyfriend.
What the boyfriend told rescue workers
The man, who had finished his shift earlier, remained at the scene. He told rescue workers that the couple had argued and that he had pushed the woman, causing her to fall and hit her head on the floor. A rescuer from Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Pattaya, Sarut Krudngoen, stated that the woman had no pulse and was not breathing upon their arrival. No visible facial injuries or bruises were initially discernible.
Adoptive father demands arrest and ordered autopsy
Somporn Thongsuk, the adoptive father, received a call and found his daughter unconscious in the convenience store. He filed a complaint and urged authorities to arrest the boyfriend. He arranged for a forensic autopsy and transported the body to his native province of Kalasin. The cremation is scheduled for the afternoon of June 4th, with full autopsy results expected in approximately 45 days.
Police review evidence – no arrest
The local police have initiated an investigation and are examining the CCTV footage from the scene to clarify the sequence of events. As of the time of reporting, the suspected perpetrator had not yet been arrested.
