KANCHANABURI, THAILAND – A seven-year-old girl was found dead on Monday in a rubber plantation, with police investigating the case as a violent crime. The child had been reported missing on Saturday afternoon after vanishing on her way to a grocery store.

A latex collector discovered the body on Monday morning in a rubber plantation, approximately 200 meters from Highway 323. The young girl was found face down among the trees, wearing a black t-shirt and pink trousers.

The parents had reported Kasama missing on Saturday afternoon after she left home for a nearby grocery store. The shop owner confirmed that the girl had purchased sweets worth 30 Baht before she disappeared.

According to police, the victim exhibited external signs suggestive of a violent act. Further injuries and the condition of her clothing indicated a serious criminal offense, investigators stated.

Investigators interviewed three monks and a driver at a temple located about 700 meters from the discovery site. Police took fingerprints from those questioned and also examined the temple’s pickup truck as part of the evidence gathering.
