NAKHON RATCHASIMA, THAILAND – Two Chinese men robbed a gold shop after running out of money, spending everything on Thai girlfriends, and are now behind bars.
Pleite durch Liebe
Zou Qintao, 27, and Song Haolong, 19, traveled to Thailand as tourists. They spent all their cash – primarily on their Thai girlfriends.
When the money was gone, they hatched a desperate plan. They urgently needed new funds.
Acht Stunden bis zur Falle
The two stormed a gold shop in Dan Kwian subdistrict, Chok Chai district. Armed and with a sledgehammer, they shattered the display case.
Police and investigators tracked them via CCTV footage. Exactly eight hours after the heist, handcuffs clicked shut in Bangkok’s Prawet district.
Die Beute ist zurĂ¼ck
Police recovered all stolen gold from the men. They have no criminal record and do not belong to any mafia, authorities stated.
On Tuesday, they were forced to participate in a crime scene reconstruction. Police described the case as coldly premeditated.
Polizei rĂ¼stet auf
Officers are still checking whether the weapon used was real. The suspects definitely carried a hammer and other tools.
In response, police are tightening controls. More patrols and stricter vehicle checks aim to prevent future robberies.
Wenn Liebe kriminell macht
Two young men threw away their futures because they did not want to appear poor in front of their girlfriends. Instead of a dream vacation, prison awaits.
