Body of foreign man found off Hua Hin pier

Rescue teams recovered the body near Hua Don Beach as police opened an investigation into the circumstances of death.

HUA HIN, THAILAND – The body of a foreign man was discovered in the sea off Hua Don Beach in the Nong Kae area on Wednesday afternoon, prompting an investigation by the authorities.

Body found near ferry pier

The deceased was located in the sea close to the ferry pier off Hua Don Beach in the Nong Kae district. Police in Hua Hin received a report at around 4:30 p.m. on 15 April about a person floating in the water.

Emergency services were dispatched to the stretch of beach near the pier following the alert. At the scene, responders confirmed that the body was that of a foreign man.

Rescue units secure the scene

The operation involved personnel from the Sawang Hua Hin Thammasathan Rescue Centre and Ambulance Unit 02. A police water search and rescue team was also deployed to support the recovery.

The teams secured the area around the pier and coordinated the recovery efforts. The body was brought ashore for further procedures and documentation by the rescue staff.

Fisherman raises the alarm

A local fisherman told officials that he had been sitting near the pier when he noticed the man in the water. According to his account, the person was floating face down on his stomach in the sea.

The fisherman then alerted the police, triggering the afternoon deployment of rescue and police units. His report formed the basis for the rapid response at the beach.

Recovery by jet ski

Officers worked with a jet ski team from Hua Hin that took over the direct recovery of the body. Using the jet ski, responders brought the man out of the water and transported him to the shore.

This method was described as commonly used when a quick and safe recovery is needed close to the coastline. On the beach, rescue workers continued with initial care of the scene and formal recording of the incident.

Death confirmed at the scene

Rescue workers determined that the man was already dead at the place where he was found. Police then notified an investigating officer and an on‑duty doctor.

Both conducted a preliminary examination and a postmortem assessment directly at the scene. The aim of these steps was to clarify the circumstances surrounding the death.

Transport to hospital and unknown identity

After the initial examination, rescue personnel transferred the body to Hua Hin Hospital. Further medical investigations and the formal registration of the death were to be carried out there.

Officials had not yet released the name or nationality of the deceased man. According to the authorities, additional information would be provided only after identification had been completed and the investigation had progressed.
