CHON BURI, THAILAND – A dog-walking dispute near a local school in Bang Saray ended with a Polish man stabbed in the chest and a Thai woman claiming self-defence.
Argument near school escalated
On the evening of 10 April in Bang Saray in Sattahip district, Chon Buri province, an altercation occurred between a 51-year-old Thai woman and a 54-year-old Polish citizen. The incident took place near the Ban-Khao-Chi-Chan School while both were reportedly out walking their dogs.
According to initial information, a conflict involving their dogs led to the confrontation. The dispute ended with a knife strike to the Polish man’s chest, leaving him with serious injuries.
Victim taken to hospital
The Polish man suffered severe chest wounds and received first aid from rescue personnel at the scene. He was then transported to the Queen Sirikit Naval Hospital for further treatment.
Reports indicated that he was later no longer in critical condition. No further medical details were released by authorities.
Police surround suspect’s home
Later that evening, at around 10 p.m., authorities surrounded the suspect’s house near the crime scene. The operation involved local administrative officials and police.
Among those present were the head of the Bang Saray subdistrict, Worarit Jangborworn, and administrative officers, as well as Lt. Col. Sila Sa-chai, deputy investigator at Sattahip Police Station. Officers remained at the location while they attempted to persuade the woman to come out.
Suspect surrenders after negotiations
After prolonged negotiations, the woman, identified as Jindaporn, left the house and surrendered to the authorities. She admitted to stabbing the man.
However, she told police that she had acted in self-defence.
“I used the knife in self-defence,”
said Jindaporn, the suspect.
Her account: dog dispute and alleged attack on husband
According to her statement, Jindaporn had been walking with her approximately 70-year-old husband and their dog when they encountered the Polish man. She said his dog then tried to bite their dog.
She further claimed that the man then attempted to attack her husband.
“His dog tried to bite our dog, and then he wanted to attack my husband, so I used a knife to defend him,”
said Jindaporn, the suspect.
Reconstruction planned as investigation continues
Police planned to take Jindaporn back to the scene to reconstruct the events based on her account. After the reconstruction, she was to be taken to Sattahip Police Station for further questioning.
Investigators also intended to question the injured man in detail once he had recovered sufficiently. According to the report, his version of events differed from that of the suspect, and officers were working to clarify the conflicting accounts.
