SATTAHIP, THAILAND – A Thai woman surrendered to police after a knife attack left a Polish tourist seriously injured near Bang Saray.
Incident near Bang Saray on 10 April
A confrontation in Sattahip, about 20 minutes by car south of Pattaya, turned into a stabbing on the evening of 10 April. The altercation took place near the Khao Chi Chan School in Bang Saray while both parties were out walking their dogs.
Victim: Polish tourist seriously injured
The victim was identified as Mr. Michal Boleslaw Melniczuk (54), who suffered a serious injury to his chest. He was taken to the Queen Sirikit Naval Hospital, where authorities later confirmed that he was no longer in a life-threatening condition.
Major night-time operation and negotiations
Police, district officials and local administrative units launched a coordinated operation later that night. Officers surrounded a house near the crime scene and spent an extended period negotiating with the suspect inside.
Suspect turns herself in
Following the negotiations, the suspect, identified as Jindaporn Field (51), surrendered to the authorities. Investigators then took her into custody to initiate the next steps in the legal process.
Initial statements: dispute during dog walk
According to early information, the dispute began when the two parties were walking their dogs and the animals came into contact, causing the situation to escalate. The suspect stated that the conflict intensified when the victim allegedly tried to attack her older foreign husband, prompting her to use a knife in what she described as self-defence.

Reconstruction at the scene and next steps
Authorities brought the suspect back to the scene in Bang Saray to reconstruct the events as part of the investigation. She was then transferred to Sattahip Police Station, where formal charges and further legal steps were being prepared.

Police said the case remained under active investigation as additional evidence and witness statements were gathered. The stated aim of investigators was to clarify the full sequence of events and to examine the different accounts provided by those involved.
