PATTAYA, THAILAND – Police, city officials and volunteers carried out a large-scale beach cleaning and beautification campaign in Pattaya to mark the birthday anniversary of Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn and strengthen cleanliness, order and environmental protection while improving the city’s tourism image.

Opening at Pattaya Central Beach

Pol. Lt. Gen. Chatchai Surachetphong, commander of Provincial Police Region 2, led the opening ceremony of the “Pattaya Beach Volunteer Development Activity.”

The event took place on Pattaya Central Beach and was organized in honor of the birthday anniversary of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.

Broad participation from city and agencies

Participants included Pattaya Mayor Poramese Ngamphichet, joined by senior city officials and heads of government agencies.

Royal volunteer groups were also present, along with many residents who took an active part in the initiative.

Ceremony with royal tribute

The program began with the traditional offering of incense and flowers as a sign of royal reverence.

This was followed by a formal act of respect before the royal portrait and the collective recitation of the volunteer pledge:

“We do good deeds with our hearts.”

said the assembled volunteers in unison.

Hands-on work directly on the beach

After the official part, the presiding officers, the mayor and all participants joined in hands-on volunteer work along the shoreline.

Tasks included collecting litter along the entire coastal line and cleaning public walkways and open areas.

Drains cleared, paths cleaned, landscape maintained

Another focus was improving the overall appearance of the area, including landscaping work and removing debris from heavily frequented zones.

Deposits that were blocking drainage systems were also cleared to ensure the proper functioning of the drains and reduce flooding risks.

Appeal to locals and tourists

Alongside the cleaning activities, the campaign aimed to raise awareness of cleanliness and environmental protection, explicitly addressing both residents and tourists.

Organizers underlined the shared responsibility to keep public spaces clean and to protect the environment.

Goal: Better tourism image and lasting responsibility

The initiative was presented as an example of cooperation by “all sectors” to make Pattaya Beach cleaner, more orderly and more attractive.

In the long term, it was intended not only to improve the city’s tourism image, but also to foster a lasting sense of responsibility for the sustainable care and preservation of natural resources.
