NAKHON RATCHASIMA, THAILAND – An 18-year-old woman surrendered to police after allegedly killing her ex-boyfriend in Khon Buri district, prompting a murder investigation and a search for several suspected male accomplices.
Body discovered on dirt track through farmland
Officers took the teenage suspect back to the suspected crime scene on 2 March at around 10.30 a.m. so she could point out where the confrontation had taken place. The location lay in maize and cassava fields west of the Ban Tako En subdistrict.
Police reported that they found the victim’s body on an unpaved track running through the farmland. Forensic specialists were called in to secure evidence at the scene.
Victim identified as local factory worker
Investigators identified the dead man as Wasan, 33, who had reportedly worked at a chicken-processing factory in Chok Chai district. According to police, his body had been left on the dirt road where it was later discovered.
Officers stated that the exact cause of death remained under investigation. Results from forensic examinations were expected to guide further legal steps against the suspect and any alleged helpers.
Teen first reported to Soeng Sang station
Police said the young woman went to the Soeng Sang Police Station late at night and told officers she had attacked and killed her former boyfriend. She was then transferred to Khon Buri Police Station, which holds jurisdiction over the area where the body was found.
Investigators opened a case of premeditated murder and began gathering witness statements and technical evidence. They also reviewed the woman’s account of events leading up to the killing.
Facebook allegation cited as motive
In her statement, the woman said that after the couple separated, she became angry because her ex-partner had claimed on Facebook that she was suffering from a serious illness. She told police she then arranged to meet him near the factory where he worked.
Investigators considered the meeting to have been planned in advance. They were examining whether the alleged online accusation could have escalated tensions to the point of violence.
Pickup passengers sought as possible accomplices
According to her account, the suspect involved two to three male acquaintances to pick up the victim in a pickup truck, supposedly under the pretext of a work-related trip. She allegedly instructed the men to stop at the later crime scene before the confrontation began.
Police said they were searching for the men who had been in the vehicle. They intended to question them either as witnesses or as potential co-suspects in the case.
Separate Phuket case involving politician’s grandson
In a separate incident in Phuket, the grandson of a politician from southern Thailand turned himself in to police. He allegedly injured a young man during a nighttime altercation in a pub.
The suspect reportedly fled the scene by car after the incident but later surrendered to authorities. Police said CCTV footage appeared to capture what happened and was being reviewed as part of the ongoing investigation.
