PATTAYA, THAILAND – Dozens of football-loving children celebrated a delayed Children’s Day on Friday at the grounds of the Isaan Pattaya Football Academy with sports, games and family activities.
Afternoon event at local youth academy
The event began on Friday, 17 January 2026, at 4 p.m. and was hosted by the Isaan Pattaya VIP Club. It took place on the pitch of the Isaan Pattaya Football Academy in the eastern part of the coastal city, where young players trained regularly.
Organisers and coaching support
The organiser was Police Lieutenant Colonel Supharuek Sodram, president of the Isaan Pattaya Football Club and known by his nickname “Ja Ek”. He was supported by coach Rangrit Suthisa, a former Pattaya United player and current trainer at the Pattaya Isaan Academy.
Local council member joins celebrations
Local politics also provided backing for the celebration. Theerapong Sodram, a member of the Nong Prue municipal council, attended, handed out prizes and encouraged the children throughout the afternoon.
Educational aims beyond entertainment
According to the organisers, the programme was intended not only to entertain but also to have an educational impact. The focus was on promoting enthusiasm for football and traditional Thai folk games in order to strengthen team spirit, cohesion and joy within families.
Football tournament and penalty shootouts
The activities were divided into two main parts. First, a football tournament with penalty shootouts in two age groups took place, where the children demonstrated their skills and competitive spirit.
Traditional Thai games bring laughter
Afterwards, traditional Thai games followed, including a backwards relay race and an eating contest (“gìn wí-bàak”), which caused much laughter among both children and parents. The organisers stressed that every participant received a prize, with many gifts sponsored by committed parents and handed out as recognition and consolation prizes.
Shared meal strengthens community ties
At the end of the day, parents and children came together for a shared meal. In a relaxed atmosphere, new contacts were made and existing relationships within the community were strengthened.
Ongoing focus on youth development
The Isaan Pattaya VIP Club and the affiliated academy stated that they would continue to focus on youth development through sport and community activities. Their goal was to build a healthy, happy and connected young generation in the region.
