Motorbike–pedestrian crash near Pattaya

Two men injured in evening collision in Khao Mai Kaeo

PATTAYA, THAILAND – A motorcyclist and a pedestrian were taken to hospital with injuries after an evening collision in a suburb of Pattaya.

Evening crash in Khao Mai Kaeo

At around 7:30 p.m. on 11 January 2026, the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Center in Pattaya received an emergency call reporting a serious traffic accident. A motorcycle had collided with a pedestrian near Ban Thung Sa Kaeo, Moo 4, on a road in the Khao Mai Kaeo administrative area.

Rescue workers were dispatched immediately to the scene, where they found two injured men being treated on the roadway. Both were given first aid before being transported to hospital.

Factory worker and Myanmar migrant injured

According to police, the motorcyclist was Mr. Theepop Jay-ing, 27, a factory worker. He had been on his way home from his workplace in the Amata City Industrial Estate in Rayong province when the accident occurred.

Theepop suffered a laceration above his right eyebrow and multiple abrasions on his body. He was stabilized at the scene and then taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

The second injured man was Mr. Nay Chan Lin, 22, a national of Myanmar. He sustained serious injuries in the collision, was treated on site and then urgently transported to hospital, where the condition of both men was being closely monitored.

Wife recounts moments before impact

The wife of the injured Myanmar national had been walking beside him at the time of the crash. She said the pair had been walking along the road to do some shopping nearby.

“A motorcyclist suddenly approached us at high speed and hit my husband head-on. I was able to jump aside at the last moment and was not injured.”

said the wife of Nay Chan Lin.

Police secure evidence and review CCTV

Officers from Huai Yai Police Station recorded the accident at the scene, documenting traces and damage and taking extensive photographs of the site. They also collected initial witness statements as part of their inquiry.

Police said CCTV footage from the surrounding area was being examined to determine the exact sequence of events and clarify any possible fault. Investigators announced that they would take further legal steps in accordance with the law once the review of the footage was complete.

Hospital observation and ongoing investigation

Doctors at the hospital monitored the health of the two injured men closely, and there was initially no information on whether their lives were in danger. Authorities stated that more details would be released as the investigation progressed.

The police aimed to reconstruct the accident using the video material and witness testimony, in order to establish how the collision happened and who might be responsible.
