Pattaya Swears In 66 New City Employees

Orientation stressed integrity, transparency and citizen-focused service

PATTAYA, THAILAND – Pattaya formally inducted 66 new municipal employees, underlining integrity, transparency and close engagement with residents during an official orientation.

New staff introduced at city hall ceremony

The introduction event took place on Sunday in the Thapphraya Meeting Room at Pattaya City Hall, led by Deputy Mayor Wuttisak Rermkijakit, who welcomed the new staff and offered encouraging remarks. Also present were City Clerk Kiatisak Sriwongchai and several department heads, who congratulated the recruits and provided concrete guidance for day-to-day work. The city had previously completed a selection process that resulted in the hiring of 66 new employees, with the orientation designed to ensure they were familiar with procedures from the outset.

Training focused on rules, procedures and benefits

According to the city, the briefing centered on key aspects of daily administration, including organizational policies and regulations, workflows in various departments, and social and additional benefits. The new recruits were also introduced to performance evaluation systems and salary payment procedures to help them carry out their tasks correctly and efficiently. The administration emphasized that clear knowledge of the rulebook was seen as the foundation for reliable citizen services.

Strategic vision for a more livable Pattaya

City leaders used the event to outline Pattaya’s strategic direction as a more livable city that meets residents’ needs in all dimensions while maintaining high public service standards. Particular importance was placed on transparent processes, with officials stressing that public services must be comprehensible, verifiable and accountable. Core administrative principles were explained to the new staff as part of this effort.

Core principles: honesty, transparency, public spirit

“The working principles are honesty, transparency and service with a sense of the common good.”

said city leadership, according to remarks at the ceremony. It was underscored that personnel were the most important resource of the organization. The new employees were urged to perform their duties with great care and to serve citizens as well as possible, in order to improve residents’ quality of life and strengthen Pattaya’s public image.

Aiming for quick integration and long-term stability

The administration expressed hope that the orientation would help the recruits quickly find their place within existing structures, understand the organization comprehensively and adapt and contribute effectively. Officials stated that the program was designed to bind employees to the city in the long term and involve them in Pattaya’s sustainable development. The new staff were expected to contribute to stability and continuity within the city administration.

Documented by tourism and sports office

The event was documented by the Public Relations Division of the Office of Tourism and Sports. The focus on new staff, clear guidelines and public-service commitments also raised questions about how strongly these promises of transparency and citizen focus would be felt in everyday contact between residents and the city.
