PATTAYA, THAILAND – Pattaya announced a new year-end PATTAYA FESTIVAL that was set to turn the coastal city into a large-scale light spectacle leading up to the New Year countdown.
Citywide light installations planned
Under the motto “Lights of Faith and the Sea”, the city planned a total of eleven illuminated art installations and photo spots at important and heavily frequented locations across Pattaya. The works were to be distributed across several central points, drawing both residents and tourists into different districts to discover the lights like a kind of rally through the city.
Festival period and nightly program
According to the organizers, the installations were scheduled to be accessible from 19 December 2025 to 4 January 2026, covering the peak travel period and New Year’s celebrations. The timing was intended to mark the start of the festive season while accompanying the transition into 2026, with visitors encouraged to find new photo opportunities each evening and visit several installations in sequence.
Concept: a light-hunt across Pattaya
The organizers urged locals and guests to seek out all eleven light sculptures and backdrops to establish a citywide “light-hunt” offering fresh perspectives on Pattaya.
“The festival invites everyone to track down all eleven unique light sculptures and backgrounds and create unforgettable memories in the nights leading up to the big New Year’s countdown.”
said the organizers.
Focus on social media engagement
The festival team placed particular emphasis on visibility in social networks and explicitly asked visitors to share images of the installations online. To this end, organizers called for the use of official hashtags, including #PattayaFestival, #PattayaLightUp and #ครั้งแรกในพัทยา, aiming to show how brightly Pattaya shone during the event.
Locations to be revealed
Specific details of the exact sites of the eleven installations had not yet been released, with the city announcing they would be published in the following days. Until then, the organizers promoted the new format and encouraged visitors to “tick off” all photo spots during the festival period.

said the organizers, who indicated the event format could become an annual fixture if response and visitor numbers were strong.
