SRI RACHA, THAILAND – Three people, including two teenage brothers on their way to school, were injured in a serious motorcycle crash in Sri Racha during the morning rush hour.
Morning collision on reservoir ring road
The crash occurred at around 8:00 a.m. on the Nong Kho Reservoir ring road between Nong Kho and Khao Chee Junction in Nong Kham subdistrict, Chonburi province, amid heavy commuter and school traffic. Rescue workers from the Pure Yeang Tai Sri Racha Foundation, officers from Nong Kham Police Station and emergency teams from Laem Chabang Hospital were alerted and rushed to the scene.
Two schoolboy brothers found unconscious
At the site, responders found a red Isuzu MU-X in the inbound lane, driven by Ms. Chanan Tancharoen, 45, who had been taking her child to school. The SUV had slowed in a traffic backlog and come to a stop. A white Honda Scoopy i lay in the grass at the roadside; it had been carrying two male secondary school students, brothers aged about 14 to 15, who were unconscious with multiple abrasions.
Third victim seriously injured
On the opposite side of the road, emergency teams discovered an overturned white Honda PCX whose unidentified female rider was also seriously injured. All three victims received first aid at the scene before being transported to hospital, while relatives of the brothers arrived shortly afterward and were visibly distraught.
Video footage reconstructs chain of impact
CCTV and dashcam recordings showed dense traffic as parents and workers headed to schools and workplaces. The Isuzu MU-X slowed when the vehicle in front braked to turn left. According to investigators, the brothers’ Honda Scoopy, reportedly travelling at high speed and about 500 meters from their school, clipped the right rear of the SUV, was thrown over the median into oncoming traffic, narrowly missed a car and then crashed head-on into the young woman’s Honda PCX in the left lane.
SUV driver in shock after crash
Ms. Chanan Tancharoen was physically unhurt but clearly in shock. She told reporters:
“I was driving slowly behind the car in front of me. The vehicle ahead braked to turn left and park, so I braked gently. Suddenly I felt a hit from behind – the motorcycle struck me lightly and then shot across the road into the oncoming bike. I have never experienced anything like this. I am extremely shaken and very worried about the injured.”

Police investigation and recent fatal school crash
Police secured the crash site and were reviewing CCTV and dashcam material, with legal steps expected after the investigation concluded. The three injured people remained under medical treatment. The incident came roughly a week after two schoolchildren had already lost their lives on their way to school in Sri Racha, adding to concern about the safety of Thailand’s school routes.
