Confession of a 7 Million Baht Gambling Loss
During questioning at the Nong Khai Immigration Office, investigators documented his admission that he withdrew 7 million baht from his bank account in a single day before losing the entire sum at a gambling venue in a neighbouring country accessible from Nong Khai city.
“He admitted to having lost the entire amount to gambling abroad.”

Officials in Nong Khai province reported that they launched an additional inquiry to determine the origin of the 7 million baht, as no supporting documentation had yet been provided.
Hotel Scam Across Multiple Nong Khai Districts
Hotel owners in at least two areas of central Nong Khai filed complaints indicating that Rohit requested free accommodation after claiming temporary financial trouble. Business operators contacted local authorities after noticing repeated attempts to avoid payment.
Investigators from the Nong Khai Provincial Police confirmed that the man’s actions resulted in an overstay charge that typically leads to deportation and a multi-year re-entry ban.
Arrest Coincided With Stricter Immigration Measures
The arrest occurred just one day after the Thai Immigration Bureau introduced a four-point screening policy on 12 November aimed at individuals entering the country repeatedly or overstaying their visas.
“The individual inspection does not take longer than 45 seconds.”
said Police General Choengron Rimpadee, Immigration Spokesperson.
According to immigration officers in Bangkok and Nong Khai, the revised measures include:
