PATTAYA, THAILAND – Hundreds of participants gathered on Pattaya Beach on 14 November 2025 for the opening of the Chonburi Coffee on the Beach festival.
The three-day event, running from 14 to 16 November 2025, featured coffee tastings, beach cafés, and cultural tributes led by local officials and provincial leaders.
Opening ceremony and official launch
Deputy Mayor Krisana Boonsawat and Chonburi Provincial Administrative Organization President Wittaya Khunpluem inaugurated the festival by cutting a ribbon in front of media and business representatives on Pattaya Beach.
“We want to make quality and local culture visible.”
said Wittaya Khunpluem, President of the Chonburi Provincial Administrative Organization.
The ceremony officially launched a joint initiative between Pattaya City, the Chonburi PAO, and the Pattaya Business and Tourism Association to promote Chonburi’s coffee and snack producers as part of a wider tourism campaign.
Tribute to Queen Sirikit
Before the program began, attendees held a one-minute silence in memory of Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, who passed away earlier in the year. A small exhibition and condolence book were displayed near the beachfront venue.
“This event connects our grief with gratitude. We honor Her Majesty’s legacy while inviting the world to see Pattaya’s gentler side.”
said Wittaya Khunpluem, President of the Chonburi Provincial Administrative Organization.
Local business and tourism revitalization
Organizers reported high attendance on the first day, with visitors exploring numerous pop-up cafés offering hand-roasted beans and pastries from Chonburi.
Officials outlined three measurable aims:
- Support for local businesses and small producers across Chonburi
- Enhancement of Pattaya’s lifestyle destination image
- Diversification of the city’s visitor demographics
Regional significance
Chonburi Province, one of Thailand’s most economically active coastal regions, used the festival to highlight its culinary identity and tourism-driven development strategy. The event formed part of broader efforts by local agencies to draw new audiences to Pattaya while maintaining traditional cultural values.
